Christmas Card Winner

Tyneside constituency MP, Mary Glindon, presented the winners of her 'Design the MP's Christmas Card' competition in her office on Friday 10th December. Local school children were invited to design a Christmas card which will be used as the Member of Parliament's official card for 2010.
Mary says "The standard was high, considering the age of the children and it was difficult to chose from Christmas card designs. In the end I chose a design by Eve Harrison, from Balliol Primary School, and one by Elizabeth Gibbs of Battle Hill Primary School to be printed. I am very pleased that Percy Hedley's printing works, Able2print, based in North Tyneside, will be printing the cards, as the work they produce is always of the best standard."

It is an annual tradition for MPs to send Christmas cards to businesses and organisations in their Constituencies, with the cost being borne by the individual MP as opposed to an administrative cost to the tax payer.

The children are:-

Eve Harrison, Age 8, Balliol Headteacher, Fiona Downes
Elizabeth Gibss, Age 5, Battle Hill Headteacher, Kevin Arthur
