No Free Lunch

The Government should close an unfair loophole and provide free lunches to 16-18 year old students in further education and sixth form colleges in the same way as their peers in schools access free school meals.

North Tyneside MP Mary Glindon, who is backing the Association of College's No Free Lunch? campaign, said: "it doesn't make sense and is not fair to treat students differently just because they choose to go to college. This disparity should be tackled quickly so that all 16-18 year olds in education are treated equally. If they are eligible for free meals in school the same should apply in college."
