Mary offers her support to great cause.
Mary Glindon has teamed up with leading actress Juliet Stevenson and MPs to highlight problems faced by female refugees.
In any refugee population, approximately 50 percent of the uprooted people are women and girls. Stripped of the protection of their homes, their government and often their family structure.
Mrs Glindon said: "We started with a photo exhibition at the Commons so people could see female refugees as real people and not mere statistics."
She added: "The UK has a great reputation for humanitarian assistance to those fleeing persecution. This trauma scars them for life and I want to make sure that their experience in our country doesn't compound this and break their spirit."
