"Young men in North Tyneside could make a huge difference to those suffering from bone cancer according to local MP Mary Glindon

The campaigning MP has promised to find ten 18 to 30 year old men to join the Anthony Nolan stem cell register.

Mrs Glindon said "the Anthony Nolan charity tells me that there's a major shortfall of donors on the bone marrow register and that they can only find a matching donor for half those in desperate need of lifesaving transplants

I shall alert local groups and others in the hope that young me will volunteer to donate their blood stem cells.

The MP said: "it won't take long to help but could help give a long life."

Details of the scheme can be secured from Mrs Glindon's office
